May, 15-16 #connector3d in Lauba
The first CONNECTOR, 3D Conference will take place 15-16 May in Lauba, the contemporary art museum of Zagreb. CONNECTOR’s 2015 theme is cyberpunk. The event will gather some of the best concept artists from Croatia and the world which create and define digital future concepts for video games, movies, entertainment, 3D print and product design.

Connector3D is part of Zagreb Design Week (#tdzg) official programme. This is the largest design event in Croatia with more than 4000 visitors last year. It’s a platform for numerous events, lectures, workshops, exhibitions.
Sophie Charlotte Andresen
Visualist
Sophie Charlotte Andresen, born 1991, grew up with the digital revolution.
Heavily influenced by William Gibson, Hiroki Endo’s Eden Series, Warren Ellis and H.R. Giger, she was interested in constructing and shaping dystopian futures since her early school days. After eight semesters studying law, political science and social anthropology at the University of Zurich she decided to focus entirely on her futuristic visual web project NEUROMÆNCER.
With an army of 40,000 followers and growing, she has over four years experience collaborating with up-and-coming artists to create an online science fiction world for creatives and sci-fi aficionados. Today she works as visualist in the film industry and as creative consultant for think-tanks such as the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute.

Efflam Mercier
3D Concept Artist
Born in 1996, Efflam Mercier had been creating pictures continuously. During 3 years at Industrial design high school in France and self training on evening and weekends, he quickly developed a passion for visual effects , film-making and 3D. It’s only later he found out about concept art. Leveraging all the 3D and visual effects knowledge he accumulated, he started experimenting and creating sci fi/fantasy images, trying to use every tool as an unified medium.
These “experiments” started to get the attention of companies in 2014 with a first call from Cube Creative in Paris where he’s still working today. Continuing to improve over time, Efflam started freelance consulting for clients in the AAA game industry, He is always looking for the new tools, new ways of working and new challenges as well.

Edon Guraziu
Concept Designer
During childhood he was always drawing so when he finished high school he already knew what route he would take. At Graphic Lyceum in Utrecht, Netherlands he learned the fundamentals of 3D and game-asset production. After 2 years he left school to get closer to his goal by devoting all his time to the fundamentals of drawing , design and 3D apps. While building up his portfolio from scratch, he got the first little gigs that consisted of short-films and small indie-games.
Thanks to a good strong portfolio he got attention from Star Citizens design studio, Foundry42 located in Manchester UK. Since late 2014 Edon has been doing freelance and remote work for clients in the AAA Industry. He is always trying to keep his knowledge up to date regarding scientific, mechanical, creative and military developments to push his work even more and create the most unique and visually interesting concepts possible.

Miro Brozović
3D Generalist
Miroslav Brozović first made contact with computers in early age with programming and simple graphics, progressing over the years to 3D world doing mechanical engineering projects in high end commercial 3D applications, developing skills in modeling and kinematics of mechanisms.
Later on, his focus shifted to design and animation, especially in the open source software Blender. After long years of perfecting it, he was doing lectures and workshops. Today he is a co-founder of a company MOGLO which specializes in modeling, animation and 3D printing. With 3D print he made the full circle, back to mechanical engineering.

Igor Puškarić
3D Artist
Igor Puškarić, born in 1982. Videogames, cartoons, H.R.Giger and Sci-Fi – fantasy environments in general pushed him in direction of creative, original designs and ideas. In 2010 with the beginning of the digital age he made a first contact with ZBrush. That was a love on the first click, after that all good things rapidly followed.
He had a breakthrough with Taitale Studios Novus Aeterno. Many other projects followed up, along with constant learning and personal growth, both as a 2D/3D concept and a 3D/animation videogame artist. His works can be found now in various sci-fi oriented blogs and sites all over world wide web. Currently he is working full time on a upcoming project with FPX studio.
In the future, he hopes to continue to grow and inspire others with his great passion along the way.

Andrei Izrantcev
V-Ray for Blender developer, Chaos Group
Before joining Chaos Group, Andrei worked on his personal open-source project for integration of V-Ray with Blender and he developed the Maya plugins VrayScatter and VRayPattern. He joined the company in the beginning of 2013 where he continues to work on and optimize V-Ray for Blender integration.
He possesses extensive development, 3D modeling and rendering skills. Andrei is a V-Ray Certified Professional.

Klaudio Ladavac
3D Designer
Klaudio is 3D Designer from Fazana, the town situated in the vicinity of classical Pula, the port of departure for the Brijuni Islands in Croatia. He always loved Science fiction/ Fantasy books and movies. Many years later, after seeing some really awesome artworks of various matte / digital painting and 3D artists he started doing it himself.
3 years later, since his first digital natural environment he is involved with numerous 3D, concept design and visualizations projects. Most of are UAE based clients like Yas Waterworld, Ski Dubai and iFlyDubai, to name the few.
Through work he has founded a way to experience art, meet new people, travel around the world and eventually work on big blockbuster movies doing environments and 3D hard-surface modeling.

Kristijan Mršić
VFX Supervisor
Kristijan Mršić, born 1975 in Zagreb, Croatia. Fell in love with computer graphics from the early age. Since there was no academic institution where one could study computer graphics art he decided to put his academic career on hold to pursue visual effects and 3D computer graphic alone. As a big supporter of team work he is always trying to find a new talent to push that creative envelope even further. Through education he was expanding a pool of artist when opportunity and time would allow.
With more then 15 years of work on various projects and productions he was turning the scales all over. As the owner of Momentum studio he has won numerous awards and continues to work as visual effects supervisor.

Nenad Gojković
3D Concept Artist
Nenad Gojković, born 1988, started his journey with well know Half-life game level editor. During that time he was attending high school but he had already discovered a whole array of professions related to video game and movie industry. To become concept artist seemed to be a clear choice so he dropped from the faculty of agriculture. While he was learning the craft his portfolio was getting bigger and bigger. After several weapon designs got featured on the conceptart.org he was noticed by the entertainment industry. Initially he was working for several clients but since he was approached by a well known game publisher he is working on his first AAA game title.

Bojan Koturanović
3D Concept Artist
Bojan is a freelance concept designer born in 1984, Kraljevo, Serbia. He loves creativity in all its forms but his passion for games and movies inspired him to develop his own set of drawing skills. Level design, storytelling and character ideation lead naturally to the world of concept art and 3D modelling. When he is not designing a world of today’s digital entertainment he enjoys mountain biking alongside audio synthesis and music production.

Dušan Vrbanec
3D Printing Engineer
Dušan Vrbanec, in the time of Chernobyl disaster was 9. He is also dreaming about music career.
Much later on his dream changes for something completely different, 3D/CAD. He finishes the Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Slavonski Brod. Soon after with a fellow college Miro Brozović opens a company specializing in 3D print, CAD/free-form modelling and animation.
As true engineers he is passionate about tools and raw materials of the best quality to get the best end product. As a maker he is also searching for the new “DIY” methods. He never stops so in his free time he also blogs about world of 3D printing with a goal of making this technology even more popular.

Ivan Šantić
3D concept designer
Ivan Šantić, 1978, is a Hyper Island, Digital Media alumni, a Swedish institution based on “Learning by doing”with CEO at the head. Soon after as Interaction Motion designer he was working for Native design Ltd, London based industrial design consulting company. There he got a first hand experience with brand industry leaders like Bentley, Audi, HP, Bowers & Wilkins.
Soon after he created his own sustainble “MOTH3R” platform. As 3D Motion designer and ZBrush Top-row artist he is now working directly for the games, movies and automotive industry. His work, medium and choice of tools reflects a simple philosophy of clean, functional and effective visual communication as a part of a unique product / brand experience.
